Do you know its possible to watch Free-to-air (FTA) channels on your DSTV decoder using some DSTV FTA settings and codes that I’ll be sharing in this post. There are many FTA channels on DSTV and these channels show entertaining and informative contents like movies, fashion, cartoon and news, but these public channels must be installed and set properly with the latest DSTV FTA frequency.
However, not all Dstv decoders can be used to watch public FTA channels. Unfortunately the PVR and Explorer decoder cannot be used to watch Free-to-air channels because DSTV blocked the public channel feature on these two decoders, however older dstv decoders can be used to scan and watch free channels.
DSTV FTA Channels
FTA Channels that can be found by scanning certain frequencies on your decoder are;
Lotus FM, Mindset Health, Botswana TV, Vivid Mosiac, RADIO Radio2000, Hope Channel Africa, ITV, Astro and various commercial channels. UBN, God TV Africa, SAFM, Ikwekwezi FM, 5FM, RSG, Lesedi FM, Trans World Radio, Metro FM, Good Hope FM, Channel Africa, Classic FM, DW Radio, Radio Pulpit/Kansel, Impact Radio, Radio Pretoria, ASTV, YFM
How to Scan For Free Channels on Your DSTV Decoder.
To scan for FTA channel you’ll need to enter the frequency and symbol rate of this channel satelite. Also make sure you following the instructions in this post carefully.

On your decoder’s remote control press Menu button.
Select Dish Installations. Press OK .
On Network 2 use right arrow, change to DSTV Pas7. Press OK.
Frequency : Press OK and type in:
Symbol Rate: Press OK and type in:26657 . Press OK.
Polarization : Right arrow: Change to Horizontal .
Accept all settings: Press OK.
Network 3: Right arrow: Change to DSTV Pas7 .
Change the following settings: Frequency : Press OK and type in: 11170 . Press OK.
Symbol Rate: Press OK and type in: 26652 . Press OK.
Polarization : Right arrow: Change to Vertical.
Accept all settings: Press OK.
Press TV button on remote. Use down arrow to go to Public PA7 . Press OK.
How to Watch Emmanuel TVand PROPHETIC CHANNEL on DSTV IS20 or IS 7/10 Decoder and other Decoders
Step: 1 Press menu Select “Advanced Options” Select “Dish Installation” Enter the pin “9949”
Select “Network Configuration” Select “Network 2 Setup”
Set Signal Setup to “Enabled” by selecting it, and moving left or right Set Frequency to “11170”
Set Symbol Rate to “26652 Set Polarization to “Vertical” Set FEC to “3/4” Select “Accept these settings”
Step: 2 Select “Network 2 Setup” Set Signal Setup to “Enabled”
Set Symbol Rate to “26657
Set Polarization to “Horizontal” Set FEC to “1/2” Select “
Step: 3 Select “Network 3 Setup” Set Signal Setup to “Enabled” Set Frequency to “12722”
Set Symbol Rate to “26657 Set Polarization to “Vertical” Set FEC to
Accept these settings”
Step: 4 “Accept these settings” to go back to the “Dish Installation” menu then Select “Scan All Networks”
Your decoder will go into scanning mode and might take a while to scan all networks.
Do not interrupt the process even if it seams to take longer
than you expected! Once completed, your picture will return as normal.
How to Scan Your Dstv Decoder to Watch SABC, Love World Plus(LoveWorldSat) & ITVN
2. Press OK two times, to see if your NETWORK
3. NB NETWORKS straight must be 100% not NETWORK Quality over 75%
5. Then scroll to ADVANCED Settings
7. Press OK change it to DSTV IS20 , Press Ok.
8. Still on network 2 , Go to frequency and Put 12682
10. Press Ok go to FEC 1/2 Polarisation Horizontal go to Column 11
12. It will bring you back to where these is HOME NETWORK, NETWORK 2, 3…to 6.
14. Change it to DSTV IS20 press ok as at NET then Frequency 12722.
16. FEC1/2 polarisation Vertical.
17. Then Column 11(accept all networks and leave screen)

19. It will take you where there is HOME NETWORK then go to COLUMN 9( Scan this network….)
0. When all the scanning is done
Public operator IS bouquet press OK.
